All of our single-origin chocolate at Chokola Bean to Bar is made only with cocoa beans and sugar—there is no added cocoa butter, lecithin, or vanilla. Our chocolate is free of soy, dairy, eggs, and gluten, and it is made in a factory that does not process nuts.

We operate a family owned cacao orchard in the northern coast of Ecuador, in the Esmeraldas province. Since 2008 we have made efforts to rehabilitate cattle pasture and mono-crop forest plantations into agroforestry systems where cacao is intercropped with fruit and local trees. One of our goals is to protect primary and secondary-growth forest. In here we can host local and endangered species that are left without a home due to the continuous expansion of the agricultural frontier.
YES! Oil paintings are about light. They are about composition and color, too. They are about subjects, and stories, and ideas. While any of these fascinations may be enough, I make oil paintings because I love oil paint. It is unlike any other medium; its properties are enticing, and it shares the appealing properties of the food we desire. When used properly it is a sauce, a butter, a cream, an icing, a powder, or a dry piece of bread – oil and dirt become so bewitching they can make us hungry. My paintings aim to become nourishment for your mind.
